The Nordic Model meeting at the Scottish Parliament next week (Mar 16th) is absorbing all available energy at the moment. Since we got inundated with people (a good thing) we've had to switch committee rooms to get the biggest one (another good thing) but that means hiring AV equipment to let members of the audience be heard (an inexplicable thing given that Holyrood is meant to be such a groovy, interactive, digital parliament.)
And since we are now past 100 people registered for the event I don't think we can accommodate many more. We did invite Education Secretary Mike Russell -- he can't come because he'll be in Sweden and Finland next week looking at their education systems. So I popped in and recorded a Feisty videocast asking what Mike makes of the Nordic Educational experience, why he's going, whether there's any chance of Scotland copying the Nordic example of kids not starting school till they are 6 or 7, or kindergarten for all from the age of 1 etc etc – there are some answers and as you'll see he rashly committed himself to explaining what he found afterwards too! So here's a wee taster of the debate for those who will and won't get to the Northern Horizons event next Wednesday.

surprise, surprise ..... Lesley is having cosy chats with the SNP's Michael 'Mike to his friends' Russell.
I'm glad that you have found a new hobby-horse to replace the old 'celtic tiger' one.... dont seem to hear too much about that one anymore.
I'm suddenly having flashbacks to somone proclaming us the saudi arabia of green energy .... ho hum
